Slave labour part 2

We posted some time ago about using child labour when available...

Well, lucky for us we have this useful resource available once again! We wasted no time and on their first day here we set Colin's grandchildren to work....

Since the ravages of the severe frosts, this lovely tree has been fighting its way back to life. The dead needles it has shed needed raking  out from under the lower branches.

The two of them made light work of the task and the tree was soon looking much better for its make-over. All that remained was for the bucket of needles to be taken and disposed off in our now much reduced "hole".

Thank you, Jasmine and Jamie!  And your reward? The satisfaction of a job well done.... (!)

Well done, Elizabeth, keep them at it and you'll be able to put your feet up all summer !!

I would recommend taking all the dead branches off up to about the height of your grand-daughter... you've got the labour, give her a pruning saw for Easter!
It is a nice, shapely looking spruce and if the lower branches recover they will never look the same as they did.

How long are they staying? You could take yourself off for a little holiday and leave them to it ;0)
